Shannon received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, graduating with a major in media arts.  During her time there she received the Gordon Parsonís Scholarship, and the Media Arts Award. She has also been the recipient of a Gadfly Prize from the Trent University Philosophy Department.

More recently Shannon received a grant from the Ontario Arts Council to produce a body of interdisciplinary work  titled Parkway Field. She also created a site specific collaborative percussion and vocal piece To The River which was performed on the London St. Footbridge as part of Artsweek Peterborough 2016.

Also having an avid interest in pattern and design, murals Shannon has painted adorn the walls of downtown Peterborough's 'Cafe District' as well as those of a few neighbourhoods, businesses and back alleys around the city.  You can find further samples of Shannon's work at The Art Gallery of Peterborough, Christensen Fine Art or visit her studio in person, which is also located in downtown Peterborough Ontario.
